President Obama’s Approval Rating Jumps 11 Percent

Life is good in the White House this week, as a recent CBS/New York Times poll shows that President Obama’s approval rating jumped a startling 11 points this month. As of this week, 57 percent of Americans say they approve of the way President Obama is handling his job, a stark increase from the 46 percent number just one month ago.

There are two elephants in the room which caused the president’s sudden increase in popularity. The first was the surprising series of attacks from Donald Trump, which led to even moderate members of the media referring to Trump as a racist. The second was the president’s recent killing of Osama bin Laden, ending a 10-year chase to find the man believed to have masterminded the attacks on September 11, 2001.
